If you do not hold one of the qualifications listed above, or hold current registration in another State or Territory of Australia or New Zealand, or have successfully completed the examinations conducted by the Australian Physiotherapy Council (APC) you would not be entitled to apply for unconditional registration to practise as a physiotherapist in Western Australia

Additional Qualifications

Physiotherapists who hold postgraduate qualifications in physiotherapy can apply to the Board to register the qualifications. The applicant would be required to produce the original or certified photocopy of the degree so that the application could be presented to the Board for consideration, and pay the prescribed fee ($15.00). (Only one fee is payable, if the application is to register more than one additional qualification.)

Providing a physiotherapist has the appropriate postgraduate physiotherapy qualification registered with the Board, he/she is entitled to use one of the following titles:

Cardiopulmonary Physiotherapist

Electrotherapy Physiotherapist

Gerontology Physiotherapist

Aquatic Physiotherapist

Manipulative Therapist

Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist

Neurological Physiotherapist

Orthopaedic Physiotherapist

Paediatric Physiotherapist

Sports Physiotherapist

Women’s Health Physiotherapist
